Wheatcroft Homes is part of a privately-owned, family-run business that has been developing residential, commercial and retail properties across the East Midlands since 1989.

Each of our developments is unique, being planned and designed specifically for its location and to meet the needs and desires of our prospective homeowners. “The company was established by my father Clinton Bourke in 1989.  After nearly 25 years at the helm he retired and I was appointed as the new Managing Director in 2013.

Day to day, I am responsible for the ongoing management of the company, the identification, assessment and delivery of new development opportunities and sales, marketing and customer service.  

I love the variety of my working week. One day I can be knee deep in spreadsheets and cash flows, undertaking a rigorous financial evaluation of development opportunities, and another day I’ll be knee deep in mud on a building site checking on construction progress. I get heavily involved in the design and layout of our new homes to ensure they can be lived in and that there’s a space for those shoes, coats, the ironing board and vacuum cleaner.  I also love meeting all our buyers and ensuring they receive an exceptional level of customer service that goes above and beyond their expectations.

Outside work, family time with my husband and two teenagers is really precious and my favourite ways to spend a weekend are road cycling, playing golf, gardening and finishing the day off with some delicious food and a lovely glass of wine”.

We were so thrilled to find this lovely and unique Thoroton Farm development at a time that we had viewed so many other properties that didn’t meet our expectations and requirements. I am very happy to offer this testimonial for Wheatcroft Homes. This relatively small company supported me at every stage of my slow and problematic move, when they would have been perfectly within their rights to let my house go to another buyer.

I finally moved in to my lovely house in July 2020 – more than a year after putting down a small reservation deposit. Apart from a couple of minor snags, which were sorted out immediately, I have had no problems with the house. Catherine is always available to answer any queries, and is still on site often, making sure everyone is happily settled in, and all is as it should be.
